What is meant by a large order? The post office charges extra for boxes that have a girth of 130" or more. We find that orders totaling $60 or more are very difficult to get into boxes which have a combined length, width, depth of less than 130". It depends on the items purchased however! Some $50 orders which are tall pieces can only fit two in a box that size. Unfortunately, we do NOT pour/craft items to "see what will fit" because we simply don't have time. Our priority is extensively packed merchandise to eliminate breakage, fitting it in the most appropriate box to benefit the customer.

~Flat Shipping & Flat Rate Packing ARE NOT USED!~

Ceramic Emporium customers do not pay flat rates for shipping. We combine shipping to lower the postal costs, and our sophisticated shipping calculator uses YOUR zip code / postal zone, the actual weight of the items and estimated packing materials. Delivery confirmation is required and already added. However, if the calculator is too high and you overpaid, you'll receive a store credit!


~Oversized Packages~

We do charge the exact shipping costs, which means large packages which are non-machinable must have that fee added to the shipping total. Calculators cannot do that so it is added if necessary. It generally runs between $3-$5 and ONLY THE EXACT COST IS INCURRED BY THE CUSTOMER. We consider it highly unethical to profit on shipping fees. We prefer to offer reasonably priced (and lower priced) bisque with exact shipping costs, rather than luring you in with low priced merchandise and making a profit on rigged shipping fees.

~Why We ONLY Use ProPay

Propay is an outstanding payment processor, one of two used by eBay (starting October). We do not use Paypal because it won't let us lower your invoice total. WE NEVER RAISE THE SHIPPING with the exception of adding signature confirmation which is required for P.O Boxes and the oversized costs incurred (mentioned above.) We email you with the revised invoice prior to processing. If we do not hear from you by the beginning of the next business day when we are shipping orders, that grants approval to process your order so you will not experience a shipping delay.

We highly recommend ProPay as it is superbly rated and uses the same 128 bit SSL security features as Paypal. Like Paypal, your information is not recorded or stored on the Ceramic Emporium site. Unlike Paypal, your payment does not immediately go through- UNTIL WE PACK YOUR ORDER AND PERSONALLY APPROVE IT.


~Free Shipping- Get The Most For Your Postal Rate!~

Once we pack your order, we may contact you if there are quite a few ounces you can add to your order to get "free" shipping on those items. If (and only if) you're interested, we work with you to identify items with those weights! We take pride in our personalized service to provide a unique shopping experience. You do NOT have to request this- we scrutinize every order to see if you can benefit in any way!


~Delivery Confirmation / Shipping Time~

Shipments to PO boxes require signature confirmation. Other orders use regular delivery confirmation. If you want insurance, please request it in the checkout textbox. (Approximately $1.70)

Although we try to keep one of each piece in stock, we ask customers to expect an average of 7-10 days to craft the item(s)and of course bulk /party orders take longer. It will be sent parcel post. Your merchandise will arrive with reasonable costs, extensive packing, and in mint condition. Enjoy the Ceramic Emporium difference!

~Breakage~

If items should break, buyers must keep all the original contents, including ALL packing materials and the box. Buyers must notify us within 9 days of the date sent (not received.) We will give you further instructions on the documentation of the breakage and filing a claim immediately with USPS. There are no refunds if these conditions are not met.


~Returns:~

Our items have clearly labeled sizes, with clear photographs. Please review the information prior to purchasing the items, as we will only reimburse the merchandise price for returns. The buyer must first contact us. The merchandise can not have been altered in any way, and must be sent back packed with all original packing materials, insured, and with signature confirmation within seven days of the date SENT. The confirmation protects both the buyer and seller. Custom orders, party supplies, markers, crayons, and paints/brushes are not returnable.

For glazed items, we recommend visiting a local ceramic shop to see glaze color chips if you require an exact match. We are not responsible for the varying color resolution settings on computer monitors. (What is purple to you, may be light blue to someone else.)
